Nosaj Thing in LA Times Magazine
“To lovers of ambitious and enchanting dance music, the sound of Los Angeles right now is Low End. Low End Theory, that is—the weekly club night in Lincoln Heights that has brought together a multiracial crew of innovative artists making laptop-based music with the inventiveness of jazz, the spiritual effect of the best New Age and the cool of classic L.A. hip-hop. You might have heard of...

Low End Theory in New York Times
“Generally known more as a rap and rock mecca than a dance music breeding ground, Los Angeles is now home to a thriving community of artists working at the crossroads of electronic music and hip-hop.”
The article also features GLK and Nosaj Thing. More here

Thee Mike B is Truant
Thee Mike B has it on lock from Cali to NYC. An avid blogger, promoter of riotous parties (such as Banana Split and Cheap Pop), a remixer/producer and collaborator (Graveleaf with Omar Doom and Knish Hit Squad with DJ Trident, for example)… Mike B comes equipped with a vast knowledge of music across the board.

A Decade of Flying Lotus, Mixed by GLK
Flying Lotus has had a remarkable year, and an even more amazing decade. His 2008 debut album Los Angeles has definitely helped put LA’s beat head community on the map, but the guy has literally layed waste to hip-hop, electronic and alternative beat genres across the spectrum for 10 years. Gaslamp Killer gives his props, lacing together tidbits of the known and unknown FlyLo lexicon to...

Electronic music is huge and growing in popularity, but the genre places an unusual demand on the actual artist: They make their money at live shows, but how interesting can a performance by someone tapping at their laptop possibly be?

R.I.P. Dash Snow (1981-2009)
I hate Dash Snow. I actually barely knew the guy — a few daps and handshakes here and there — but it’s hard to call Dash an asshole or a victim, because what he was, was… a sad statistic of the lore of downtown NYC. I hate that Dash lived up to his promise, the promise to burn bright and fast. Leave a nice looking corpse. Even he knew it would be too easy to lump him into the...

Twitter = End of Television
It’s a new day for broadcast. Control of the experience, at least entertainment-wise, has been stripped out of the hands of a few, offered to the many. It may be hard to grasp the end of television, because it is still here, right in front of us. What else do you do with 250 channels other than watch it.
If I could see live music and sports from my sofa, I wouldn’t probably pay much...
